Environmental Defense Fund

As a climate science and policy intern at the Environmental Defense Fund I had the unique opportunity to combine technical and political work in service of the larger goal of mitigating climate change. The research-focused component of my job involved developing a carbon footprint calculator tool to assess the impact of American lifestyle choices on the progression of climate change and assist in future policy evaluations. On the political side, I targeted and developed dossiers for policymakers that translated scientific and economic studies about the impacts of climate change into tangible effects in their districts. Developing these fact sheets involved not only analyzing technical reports about climate change but also strategizing with the political affairs team to target these memos for key districts in the 2018 midterm elections.
