General Accountability Office
I worked at the Government Accountability Office as an intern. While the GAO is best known for audits of government programs, I worked on a different type of report, a technology assessment. Technology assessments are designed to inform Congress about a new technology area with a focus on science rather than federal programs. My particular technology assessment was about sustainable chemistry. I researched and wrote about a specific technology category (catalysis) as well as participated in interviews with industrial leaders in this area and federal agencies.
