Economics and Mathematics Major
Council of Economic Advisors
This summer I worked at the Council of Economic Advisers, which is composed of academics dedicated to advising the President on economic policy. As an economics and mathematics major, I was specifically involved in two major projects. The first involved long-term data analysis on the state of manufacturing in the United States, and a subsequent comparison to Germany and China. The second project entailed helping to design randomized trials to analyze the effectiveness of educational software. My experience this summer helped me to advance my passion for using those empirical tools learned in the classroom to evaluate interesting topics such as education technology and manufacturing. In the future, I am interested in pursuing an advanced degree in economics and then either entering academia or the public sector as a researcher and advisor.
