Thd World Bank Group
I spent the summer working for the Solutions for Youth Employment (S4YE) coalition of the World Bank's Jobs Group. This is a global coalition of over 20 international governments, companies, and NGO stakeholders working to solve problems of youth employment in developing countries. It was an exceptional opportunity to learn about and work with the organizational mechanisms and structures of global organizations and the public-private partnerships necessary to achieve high impact in the developing regions of the world. I also learned about the global youth employment crisis and the way technology and data can help city governments.
My main project consisted of developing a private sector engagement strategy for the coalition to develop partnerships with companies around the world. In addition to this, I developed and deployed a web application for government employees of Manila, Philippines to be able to visualize and analyze the city's road incident data and collaborated on the writing of S4YE's 'Impact Portfolio Report', a technical report spanning 19 youth employment projects across 15 countries and 6 continents.
