This summer I interned for the US and Graphic Detail Section of The Economist. I had the opportunity to pitch, research, and write my own articles. Some topics I covered this summer included unemployment insurance benefits, black lives matter protests, mask wearing across countries, covid-19 lockdown trends and more. It was a very rewarding experience to see a vision go from just an idea in my head to a tangible article read by people all across the world. I hope to pursue a career in data journalism after I finish at MIT.
