This summer I worked at Systems, Planning & Anaysis, Inc. SPA is a federal contractor whose main client is the U.S. Navy. The group I worked in is called the Undersea Technology Assessment Group (UTAG). UTAG supports the Navy and other government organizations with timely and objective analytical assessment and provides mature, fully-integrated analysis and planning products that reflect all of the factors important to decision makers. I met with clients who are Flag Officers/Senior Executives, and worked with senior military operations and systems analysts to provide integrated support to their decision making. Working around the defense procurement strategy was interesting and relevant for me, since I am a systems engineer and enjoy thinking about the big picture and everything that is intertwined with complicated processes and organizations.
