This summer I interned at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. My role was to help create a joint prize challenge between the Centers for Disease Control and their counterparts at the Public Health Agency of Canada, and to facilitate mutual collaboration. The challenge aims at exploring methods to incorporate data from wearable devices and mobile applications into existing public health surveillance systems.
