Computer Science and Engineering Major
Noblis
This summer I interned with Noblis, a government consulting firm. I was working on designing and developing a software tool to help conduct life cycle assessments of products. This process evaluates the manufacturing of a product from cradle to grave. The software made it easier to document the costs and environmental impacts of a product's different stages, from resource extraction to disposal. This allows product managers to choose systems which are more sustainable and cost-effective. I enjoyed combining my interests in sustainability and computer science to work on a project that positively impacted the work of government agencies. In addition to my internship, I really appreciated understanding more about technology and government consulting, learning under strong mentors and taking advantage of the professional development opportunities offered by Noblis.
