This summer I worked at the SunShot Initiative within the Solar Technologies Office and the Department of Energy. My time was mainly split between two tasks: researching desalination and working with grants and incubators for solar start ups. This allowed me to not only work with energy and policy, but to apply my knowledge to start up companies in the solar field. Furthermore, the first-hand research on desalination I conducted will be used by the office in the future, and my interest in solar energy was peaked by the work that I was able to do over the summer.
