Brattle Group

I interned at the Brattle Group, a private economic consulting firm that provides economic, regulatory, and financial analysis for corporations, law firms, and governments. I worked on cases within the firm’s bankruptcy and electricity practices. On the bankruptcy side, I contributed to fiscal policy analysis using Excel models to determine the projected effect of macroeconomic policy levers. On the electricity side, I worked with other interns to prepare a presentation on the factors that utilities should consider with the future of hydrogen power, such as cost, necessary infrastructure and deployment at scale. I also contributed to a project using Brattle’s generation capacity expansion model, GridSIM, which simulates hourly market operations, investment, and retirement to inform grid planning.

This summer I gained valuable experience with analytics software including SQL, R, and Excel and learned about the many different types of projects happening within the firm. I greatly enjoyed this opportunity to work with the talented people at the Brattle Group and explore economic consulting.
