This summer I interned at Deloitte Consulting in Arlington, VA in their Government and Public Services offering. Throughout the summer, I worked closely with Deloitte professionals in project management and business development and gained a fuller understanding of the interface between government and private contractors like Deloitte. My internship also provided me with rewarding opportunities to interface with professionals in public-sector consulting and gain a better sense of both the challenges government looks to the private sector to solve and how the public sector responds to meet the needs of government. This summer summer in D.C. was an enriching, memorable, and enjoyable experience—I highly recommend the MIT DC Internship Program to any MIT student interested in learning more about public policy and, in particular, the role that policy plays in shaping the world we live in.
