This summer I interned in the United States Senate for Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL). In the Office of Senator Tammy Duckworth, I worked with the Senator’s transportation policy team. There I had the opportunity to do attend Senate Commerce Committee hearings, draft recommendations on upcoming legislation and nominations, and observe the team’s work on the FAA Authorization Bill.  In addition, this legislative work, I helped with constituent relations by answering phones, processing constituent mail and faxes, and helping to field constituent contacts to the right staff in the office. This internship was a great opportunity to serve the people of my home state and learned about the policy process, and I hope that my full-time career takes me back to Capitol Hill.
