This summer I worked as a data analyst in the East Asia Infrastructure (EASIN) Transportation sector of the World Bank. By learning open-source tools such as Quantum Geographical Information Systems (QGIS), R statistical computing system, and Excel, I developed methodologies for analyzing traffic accident data generated by an open-source platform. I had the opportunity to observe the dynamic between country counterparts and the World Bank during my mission trip to Cebu City, and also discussed the kinds of transport policy, management, and investment questions could be answered with these data.
