United States Trade Representative

This summer I worked in the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), which sits in the Executive Office of the President. The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) develops and coordinates U.S. international trade policy, leads trade negotiations, and advises the President on trade matters to promote American economic interests at home and abroad. I worked in the Office of Economic Affairs, which serves as the USTR's economic consulting arm, providing analytical support for trade negotiations and policy development, and coordinating interagency policy implementation. In my role, I contributed to a few significant projects, such as creating data packets for the Agreements on Reciprocal Trade negotiations, writing literature reviews on various trade policy topics to inform policymakers, and building a metric-tracking dashboard that aligns with the America First Trade Policy goals. I also participated in interagency meetings with economists from the International Trade Commission, the Treasury Department and the Department of Commerce.
