Renaissance Strategic Advisors

This summer, I interned at Renaissance Strategic Advisors, an aerospace and defense strategy consulting firm based in northern Virginia. Throughout my internship, I worked on several client engagements, focusing on the defense electronics sector. The projects I contributed to included a vendor due diligence and a market strategy report.

My day to day work involved research and market modeling. For research, I would gather information from government websites, data aggregators, and news providers regarding various government programs, and then compile what I had found into a clear and concise format and share it with my supervisors. One element of research was analyzing risks to government programs based on administration priorities and congressional legislation. Market modeling involved predicting future contractor addressable outlays for specific defense programs using publicly available information and Renaissance’s proprietary investment model.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Washington, D.C. and gained valuable work experience and personal connections. Learning about the defense industry, and how government policy impacts the outlook of private companies, was an interesting experience that has shaped my future career goals.
