World Bank Group
The World Bank is a multilateral development bank which provides loans to governments around the world to alleviate poverty. Among the many things it works in is transportation and transportation infrastructure. In many developing countries, public transit does not serve all citizens in large citizens and private, informal transport arises to fill in the service gaps. These enormously diverse services are often dangerous, but are the life blood of many cities. They primarily transact in cash, which presents data collection and safety issues. During the summer I developed a flexible mobile ticketing proposals for this transportation typology, including prototyping, reviewing past projects, and writing about potential issues.
